Dr van den Berg has a private Orthopaedic practice based in Somerset West. For the last 30 years he has established himself as a specialist in knee & hip replacement (Arthroplasty) surgery. Dr van den Berg also regularly attends local and international Orthopaedic congresses, workshops, and masterclasses.

For the last 4 years Dr van den Berg’s main interest has been in Handheld Robotic Knee Replacement surgery.

Not only has he attended Robotic workshops both locally and internationally in countries such as the United Kingdom, USA, Dubai and Turkey, but he has also presented talks on South Africa’s contribution and experience.

More than 500 Handheld Robotic Knee Replacements have been performed at the Busamed Paardevlei Arthroplasty unit and the early results are extremely promising.
